After the success of its 2012 premiere at The Garage, Dr. Zebrovski’s HOUR OF POWER was revitalized, reimagined and reloaded for a limited run – Friday through Sunday, July 26, 27 & 28 at CounterPULSE as part of the Summer Special program.

Dr. Zebrovski’s HOUR OF POWER enlisted some of San Francisco’s most vital underground performers and artists (creator Kevin Seaman and collaborating performers Baruch Porras-Hernandez, Ben McCoy, Nahid Elgadi and Rotimi Agbabiaka) to create a power-packed hour of interactive theatre, dance, performance art and storytelling.

Continuing to explore the intersection of commercialism and the occult, Dr. Zebrovski’s HOUR OF POWER referenced familiar marketing ploys, cultural trends and late-night TV entertainment to reveal the lengths that we, as a society, will go to in order to make sense of our own existence – the desperate need to communicate with the beyond – and the mystical power of advertising.

Because of the increased technical capabilities of the venue, this presentation of Dr. Zebrovski’s HOUR OF POWER utilized video elements to enhanced overall show. In addition to a introductory video welcoming audiences to the performance and setting the stage for the show, on-stage performance was enhanced by the addition of karaoke-style and reality television confession videos.

High-quality video documentation was captured by Mark McBeth and still photos were captured by Robbie Sweeny Photography.
